In the same breath, the council is expected to provide guidelines on the realization of vision 2030 of Abu Dhabi. The council has its headquarters situated in Abu Dhabi. I chose the council because of its vast activities and good performance in terms of providing sustainability in the region (Bebbington et al. 2014). It is a benchmark to other companies and organization in sustainable developments. The mission of the council is to manage sustainable Emirate’s urban growth through creation of strategies, policies and master plans. It works by approving development projects. The vision is to achieve a global replica of sustainable development in urban centers by 2030. Goals of the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning council The council has ensured that is achieves advanced extends of sustainable devise and performance through acquiring the design procedures correct from the start. The need to preserve the natural environment is the driving power of the council and needs to be attained as soon as possible. The council seeks to work in partnership with different local agencies and sector like health in the admission of better services. The company is designed to ensure proper housing and urban growth is well maintained (Mowforth, & Munt, 2015). To achieve its goals and objective, the council educates the community through outreach functions to educate the public on ways to maintain proper urban center environment and the advantages of the actions. Finally, the administration of the council is geared towards achieving a unified goal of the urban and rural setting. The impacts that the company posses to the local areas and other international organizations are positive and hence the practices of the council are considered fundamental through the admission of services Sustainability Initiatives In the past, the company had some sustainable measure including environmental preservation measures. The company worked on encouraging all urban developers to maintain the environment through mitigation measures through maintaining the natural environment. Disposal of sewage was to be done according to the health regulations. The investors were required to acquire certificates of approval before embarking on the development process. Secondly, the company ensured that there were proper housing methods through controlling growth management and providing vast range of the housing designing options. The council also tried to improve the social amenities in the urban centers to cater for the increased number of city dwellers (Halog, & Manik, 2011). Presently, the council is focused on maintaining the natural environment through putting measures in place to mitigate the environment to solve the problem of climate change. The company is currently educating the urban dwellers and other companies on the need to reduce gas emissions to the environment. Punitive measures are presented to the agencies who do not comply with laws. The company is encouraging cultural heritage through construction of the cultural grounds for competition and practices. This idea helps in promoting social coexistence and peaceful living among the urban dwellers. In addition, the company is encouraging creation of jobs and other working opportunities to meet the needs of the jobless in the urban center. In the vision to achieve the targets of 2030, the council uses the Estidama program that is directed to enable the council achieves the vision. In their actions to perform the practices, the council has made partnerships with other world organizations like the world Green Building council (Wiek et al. 2011). The partnership is expected to improve the decision-making ability of the council through having many ideas and suggestions concerning different opportunities and risks. Furthermore, the councils seek to improve service delivery in the urban centers through the provision of alternative sources of energy. The council encourages good management policies that would help bond the people to enable them work in unison to achieve the vision 2030. The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council environmental pillar The company has found out that several of the environmental success can also contain a positive financial effect because lessening the ultimate amounts of material that is used in packaging often decreases the general spending of the materials (Bell & Morse, 2013). The targets set act as a propelling factor to the future prosperity of the council. Globally, the council is at medium level where it hold a good position in its activities but still have much to do to be recognized internationally. The council is rated is rated among the upcoming councils and what it has achieved should act as a foundation for future growth. It therefore has started partnerships with other companies globally to enhance its decision-making processes and improve for the betterment of the urban centers. Analysis of Impacts How the company’s contributions affect the 3 pillars of sustainability Positive According to the company, the company has contributed to a lot to the reduction of environmental waste through control of waste products that will destroy the environment. The company has found out that several of the environmental success can also contain affirmative financial effects because lessening the ultimate amounts of material that is used in packaging often decreases the genral spending of the materials. The social pillar usually binds back into other unsuccessfully defined aspect such as social license since the company is a sustainable trade and must have the ultimate approval and support of its stakeholders, staffs and the whole community that it controls. The company usually ensures that the social amenities such as schools, ready water to drink and several hospitals so as to exercise the aspect of positive contribution towards the society (Benn, 2014). The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council has assisted the country in marketing, maintaining and also promoting Abu Dhabi’s unique identity and the cultural heritage. Negative The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council has destroyed several rivers because of the release of wastes. Releasing waste to the rivers in the country causes an environmental problem as it has impacted the environmental pillar which is supposed to be sustained to a greater level. The company contribution towards that the economy has been negatively affected especially though the promotion of unnecessary aspects such as hatred because the company view its competitor as its rival who exists to ruin their ultimate business in the industry.
