The glasshouse effect affects the atmosphere where the expulsion of greenhouse gases whose high concentration entraps heat in the earth’s atmosphere. Another cause is ever increasing population which leads to the growing need for more space and demand for the usage of natural resources to sustain them. It is a serious problem because if the earth continues to wear out, the UV light will penetrate the earth's surface and cause diseases such as skin cancer. In addition, it will affect climatic patterns which will alter normal temperatures leading to extreme living conditions. For example, the increase in temperatures causes large boulders of ice to melt and form water, which flows to large water bodies.

To avert the issue of global warming, public education is required to ensure that citizens are fully aware of the causes and effects of global warming. Research shows that most people are not conscious of the serious issue of global warming; therefore, adequate education of the public on this matter will be of great significance.
