Theme of Love and Trust in Orpheus and Eurydice

In the modern-day, love is an important thing to a number of people if different societies. Love plays various roles in communities such as uniting people and ensuring peaceful coexistence among people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Consequently, many people around the world desire and crave for love. Similarly, the trend is also evident in the past generation among people of various origins with contrasting cultural practices and beliefs. The myth The story of Orpheus and Eurydice reveals a number of different roles that love and desire played in the past generations. According to this story, love and desire play a huge role in marriage between people from different cultures. Moreover, it unites and ensures peaceful coexistence between different cultures.

Love plays an enormous role in marriage between people from different cultures around the world. Many people enter into marriage because they love and trust each other. The feeling of love compels them to settle down and live together for the rest of their lives. According to the myth The story of Orpheus and Eurydice, Orpheus and Eurydice get married (Ovid para.1). The two are from different backgrounds with contrasting cultures. They decide to have a long time relationship despite their contrasting cultural values and traditions. They do this since they love and adore each other. From these examples, it is evident that love plays a huge role in marriage between people of different cultures and backgrounds. Thus, anyone intending to marry or become married must share mutual love with the partner.

Equally important, love can lead to desperation and death. The feeling of love and desire is so strong that those who endure it are compelled to do various stupid things just to be with their loved ones. They try everything within their power to ensure they are around their loved ones. Some make irrational decisions such as committing suicide. In the myth, Orpheus contemplates joining her dead wife, Eurydice in the spiritual life (Hamilton para.11). As a result, he attempts to enter the world of the dead to be with her lover. Equally, Orpheus glances back at Eurydice since he is desperate to have her. His actions are controlled by his love for Eurydice hence he does not make rational decisions and becomes excessively desperate to follow her to the world of the dead. Through his actions, it is evident that love can lead to suicide and desperation among different people. People should learn to control their desire and love for others in the community.

Evidently, love is sweet and important to a number of people in the community. It makes them enjoy life and peacefully coexist with people from different backgrounds with contrasting cultural and religious practices. Through the myth The story of Orpheus and Eurydice, readers are notified of the various roles love and desire plays. According to this myth, love results in the marriage of people from different cultures with various practices and traditions. Those in love accept to live with one another despite limited knowledge of their partners. In addition, love leads people to irrational decisions such as committing suicide. It happens when those in love lose their loved ones. Consequently, it necessary for people to control their feeling of love.
