Public relation campaign program Protection is better than treatment and even if it is expensive because here the cost we pay is through money but when we have to treat a disease we pay it through both our health and money. In this new era where health research has got to a point where a vaccine is available for all the difficult and resistant disease why not just avail it. Problems with health are putting a lot of burden on a nation's economy and in long term productivity and progress. There have been a continues struggle to find out ways to decrease disease burden on nations and provide them with the best of interventions which is protection whether through vaccination or some other means. Our media is playing major role in bringing awareness to people regarding a lot issues in our society related or unrelated to health but this area needs a bit more attention in terms of improving the quality and quantity of advertisement about the issues related to health. We should provide a wide rage of perspective to the laymen and should be an open forum for them to learn how to take care of their healthy life while also making sure not to compromising on the major luxurious events in their life. When health benefits are offered to clients while compromising on their own personal internal motives that decreases the compliance of the intervention so w need to take care of that. Vaccination hardly has any side effects but on the other hand treatment with simple Paracetamol tablet for a headache does carry a profile of side effects so why not go for the safest and easiest mode of therapy. I am feeling proud to announce that we have come up with list of vaccinations for a number of diseases included Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Tetanus, HIV/Aids. The incentive this time by this Irish-based Cormac O'Grady Pharmaceuticals, multi-national manufacturers is that these vaccines are available at much cheaper rates than it is in your own countries. If you are getting this vaccinations done over here it will be cheap comparatively, your fun time will be utilized effectively for this very important activity as well and apart from this in this campaign there will be general teaching regarding some other protection techniques for everyone which will be as important as this vaccination will be. Some of the research studies they were conducted have come up with a bit disappointing results regarding some holiday destinations like maxico,Turkey,Tunisia etc. regarding the vaccination level which are low there. Different factors like Lack of awareness, misunderstanding about which destinations posed a risk and to larger extent consumer apathy have contributed to this low level of vaccination. All these factors need to be taken care of in order to have a strong hold of the problem. If we look at the disease burden, the percentage of cured people, the side effect profile of the drugs that are taken in order to cure a disease people would rather want to protect their self through vaccination and personal safe practices. In order to launch a campaign we need to have a group of people with translators as needed and their should also be a proper place where these groups should get and get people interviewed either S through direct questioning or through a written questionnaire and should record the responses. The population of target is all the holiday makers from a particular set of areas specially the ones the have shown a low level of vaccination. Our objective is to attain a 90 % of vaccination level if not a 100%. "Immunization protects individuals and communities by preventing the spread of disease. As more people are immunized the disease risk for everyone is reduced. Immunization has probably saved more lives in Canada in the last 50 years than any other health intervention. Immunization is the single most cost-effective health investment, making it a cornerstone in the effort to promote health" (CCIAP, 2008). The key messages to audiences will be that disease that can be controlled easily with vaccination and safe practices are mostly very difficult to be treated completely. Looking at the cure rate post treatment of the already occurred disease and looking at the successful rate of vaccination it becomes very well evident that going for vaccination and other parameters of protection is a high yield strategy that should be followed. This research study can be conducted and concluded in a week's time if it is carried out as a cross sectional design study. This apparently does not require allocation of a huge fund but will rather lead to more of a economical benefit if it is carried out successfully and most of the target population gets vaccinated. So if this multinational company is paying for the study expenses it will be more of an investment rather than spending that money for good. After the data is collected through a direct face to face interview or a written response on a questionnaire needs to be analyzed and the need for providing protection and even education on protection to that targeted population. This will be a very decent way of using vaccination for the ones that require it like through data analysis we get to analyze the need for it and by the provision of vaccination we fulfill the need for it. This kind of approach has a good yield over all. Assignment II In this new era of health care availability the efforts are mainly put at the prevention and not the treatment. Most of the researches that are getting launched are aimed at knowing the efficacy of prophylactic medication, vaccination or some other non pharmacological preventive measures. WHO has started having frequent setting with the member countries for refreshing the need for improving the quality of vaccines and ensuring proper availability and for maintaining cold chain for most of the vaccines so, that efficacy of them and could be maintained. Media is being used for a lot of things that are rather hazardous to health and we see that the impact of those aids is a positive reinforcement. If we do the same for the advertisement of vaccination and prophylactic medication we will get a lot better results then expected. What we do is we plan it this way; we heir a team of health care providers which should have a doctor a few members of nursing staff and a few members for management purpose. We should also take an appointed time in a popular program of awareness already launched and known to viewers. The media channel selection should be done with a thought process in mind where we can specify our population strictly, that will make the program more focused and objective oriented. We will heir a program that is conducted in English so, that it benefits most of the audiences if not all. We organize it in the form of an interesting forum of questions answers and the participants should have a good knowledge of the area covered. Like the team should be ready to entertain any queries raised by the audience. It should be more of an open discussion regarding different aspects of life, the common age of occurrence of a particular set of diseases, a particularly prone group of people in this regard, different ways of social and sexual practices that can put someone at more risk. This discussion should be very open and the question should be invited so that it gives a clear picture to audience. If it is a lot of information thrown but not a communicative transfer of information the audiences later go into regression and they lemmatize their life so much that these kinds of programs in future start getting rather discouraged. This forum should be made interesting by calling well educated and well known celebrities in it for a small piece of discussion of their experiences in life. The amount of knowledge the participants of this program should have should be an optimal amount of knowledge of different disease that are contagious and can contracted easily, the mode in which they are contracted more easily, the incubation period of the manifestation of symptoms, the ones that are more prone to contract the disease because of any of their own factors and the measures that should be taken as a part of first aid just incase interaction occurs. Sexual education should be the main theme of this forum, couples need to be given the comfort that if they do not teach their children the issues related to sexuality no one else will teach them they way it can benefit the. Life style plays a very important role if parents have a very liberal life style they have in most of the instances have the awareness how to make their health secure but if children are following that kind of life style without having any knowledge of risks associated to it it can lead the most unfavorable situation that a couple of parents would want. Similarly if a very low socioeconomic couple which is at risk for another set of diseases are also required to teach their children the basic measures of prevention and getting their self protected through vaccination. In this era in order to control contagious disease vaccination is for free but people just need to have the awareness why is it needed And where to get it from. Personal measures of protection are very important, ones that are not aware of it would want to learn them and practice them once they are thought all of this in an appropriate way. The way to go about it should be such that a brief introduction of the disease should be given in layman language rather than in high level specialized medical terminology and then the ways it is contracted should be displayed through charts and boards to lasting impact of the information shared. Along with all this different measures that can break the cycle of transfer of these contagious organisms should be clearly explained and focus should be put on the non pharmacological measures that can prevent the transfer of the infection to the non infected one. After all these measures are clearly shown with reinforcement though schematic presentations then pharmacological measures should be discussed. In pharmacological measures the prophylaxis and vaccinations are two main areas that should be discussed and the availability of them should also be explained to the audiences. There should be further step of launching temporary/ permanent centers or medical stores points where the vaccination should be available and the audiences should be guided how to approach those points. The probable contraindication, side effect profile and efficacy interfering factors should be discussed clearly. Before this program is released it should be advertised the best way in simple words and the timings should be such that majority of the audiences should be able to watch it. References 1.
