I think humans dream about death because it is something that we all will go through, and for some, it is very scary. The elements that the dream dictionary said were involved in a death dream such as abandonment or a loss of something seems to me like the people behind the dream dictionaries are trying too hard to interpret something that seems like it is a much more literal dream concept than other ones.
I think that Freud's theory for dreams does make sense in interpreting your wife’s dream because it doesn’t seem like her dream is trying to problem solve such as with Adler. However, I do think that Calvin Hall’s theory might apply since he believed that “Dreams reveal things about yourself”(“Dream Mood,” 2011). Maybe the dream could be placed into Hall’s category of “Concept of Self” or “Concept of Problems and Conflicts(“Dream Mood,” 2011). I think that Freud's theory works best, but maybe the Hall theory could work as well. With the dream dictionary, I can’t help but wonder who writes the interpretations and how they come up with them. What do you think about this?

Anthony,
I enjoyed reading your post! Your dream was really interesting. I don’t think that I have ever dreamed about celebrities before, and I know I have never dreamed about a celebrity in the kind of situation that you described. It was interesting to see how you picked apart your dream for analysis as well. I think that the interpretation of Unconscious Desire in terms of wanting a new car was interesting. I wouldn’t have thought about the car as an important element of the dream, but I guess nearly everything in a dream can be interpreted and analyzed. It’s also a bit strange that clubbing would mean that you need to relax because the idea of clubbing always stresses me out, but maybe most people find clubbing to be fun/relaxing.
In reading your dream, I feel like the Calvin Hall theory might apply as well because it seems like certain aspects of the dream could relate to your concept of yourself, other people, the world, your impulses, prohibitions, and penalties, and maybe even your concept of problems and conflicts(“Dream Mood,” 2011). It seems like there are so many elements in the dream such as the celebrities, the club, the cars, and the ninjas, so I think that maybe the dream is showing you what your view/concept is of all these different aspects.
