Lecturer: Story Response Reading through the story of Casey paints out picture of a dysfunctional family. It is obvious that thesocial fabric that ties the family members together has been stretched too far. Like when Casey arrives in their home. Though it is somehow courteous to ask someone to enter in the house, Casey takes it too far by waiting to be welcomed by his father. I would have expected that she would rush in and happily greet the people inside. There are the closest people one can have.

It is explicit that the family relationship is going through some trial.Back to the house, Casey cannot cope up with the family members; she is too engrossed and occupied in her mind. She has no sentiments even to where she molded to a big girl as she is right now. She is rather indifferent.After the ice breaker, I want to believe this is one of the greatest stories you have written. How the interactions amongst the character and the exemplary reflection brings in emotion. I find myself being in Casey family and could not help to feel remorseful.

My younger brother passing away, never to be seen gain and I never had time for him? That sounds terrible and definitely shaking. The reflection about Casey past life, how they were when they were young and growing is just beyond words.As a reader, I feel that you could have provided us with the information about what happened to Kelvin burial. It sounded like the unifying factor between Casey and her family. Somehow, that issue carried a lot of weight. A teenager losing his life? It is painful to anyone to imagine.
