Extract of sample "Global Climate Change"

New technologies and greater energy efficiency have promised to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; thus, solving the escalating global climatic changes. Therefore, the United States government through its relevant government should as well take the initiative of curbing the climate change problems within its borders.

There are numerous climate change indicators in the United States that the government should concentrate on while addressing the problem of Global Climate Change. Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting the vital environmental indicators is the critical step that the United States should be advocating for in the understanding of the purported climate change and its subsequent causes (EPA 01). The indicators of climatic situations that present themselves in a given area should; therefore, be studied over a certain or a reasonable period. The stipulated time should be enough to reveal that the resulting climatic change is detrimental to the environment and its constituents.

Some of the climate change indicators include precipitation, change in sea level, temperature, and concentrations of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. The EPA’s climate change Indicator report depicts that the United States of America has more than twenty-four climate change indicators (EPA 04). Therefore, the government should analyze the written report and address the presented indicators with the weight they deserve, thereafter, proposing the way forward to curb or reduce the effect of these indicators. Additionally, the report seems to have simplified the situation since it has described the trend related to each indicator and the subsequent effects they can individually pose to the climate leading to Global Climate Change (EPA 02).

EPA report is very important for the state since it has primarily focused on the United States; however, some of the indicators or highlighted cases have global trends and are vital in providing context or a basis for comparison with other parts of the world. The report has examined the long-term data sets that track the impacts or effects of climate change in America. (EPA 04) In addition, EPA’s report is very vital in assisting the decision-makers on how to apply or use the program and policymaking resources, which are applied to respond to the United State’s climate change that is, Global Climate Change. Finally, the state should assist EPA alongside its constituent's programs in evaluating a successful climate change program (EPA 03).

Furthermore, the United States should be committed to initiating regulatory measures in reducing climate change. Some of the proposed measures that policymakers should be advocating for include Clean Air Act. In some cases, relevant authorities address the issues related to climate change. In dealing with Greenhouse gas emissions, the United States should ensure that such emissions are addressed right from the refineries and Power plants (EPA 03). The underlying greenhouse gas regulation aims to reduce emissions by over forty percent.

Another measure that the state should imitate is advocating for the use of improved fuel efficiency especially for medium and heavy-duty vehicles. This will effectively be facilitated and implemented by the Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, to curb the excessive greenhouse gas emission. Notably, the state and other relevant departments can initiate numerous measures in fighting or reducing the effects of climate change (EPA 03). Thus, the state should fully exploit such measures to reduce the effects or occurrences of climate change and Global Climate Change. Read More
