Cadbury and Mobil Case StudiesIn this report I will present the wide diversity of companies that are employing enterprise systems. In this report I will compare two companies’ projects that are aimed to implement the SAP R/3 for their better organizational working and management. In this study I will compare the similarities and contrast the differences among these two corporations. The first company is Cadbury Schweppes Ltd. That is aimed to implement the project of the e-enabled ERP that is known internally as “Probe.

” Cadbury Schweppes has used IT systems since the 1970s. This company has stated the use of SAP as one of a number of ERP systems dates back to 1994. But as the technology evolved and organization faced more competition in the market place then the need for the new system implementation has increased. This new project for the implementation of the SAP R/3 will completely change the structure for the working of organization and also provide them the competitive edge. The second company is the Mobil Oil Australia Limited that is previously using Sap system for the data processing and as a core back-office system.

But the company is not feeling well with this system implementation because the present working is still heavily paper-based. So they have aimed to implement the SAP R/3 project for the better organizational working and management. The most common factor in both companies’ projects is the renovation old organizational working environment to a new and efficient ERP system. In this scenario both companies are aimed to implement the new fully automatic system for the better organizational information management.

They also have the common aim regarding the gaining the competitive adage through the technology based organizational system. Another common goal settled by both organizations is the adaptation of new IT based system as a tool to transform our business processes. They want to implementation of mySAP.com to create a standard IT platform and in doing so develop new transparent organizational processes.Another the similarities in both companies project are the implementation of the process re-engineering for their already SAP based organizational management system.

This re-engineering process will change and improve the functionalities of the already present SAP based system to enhance the organizational working. Now I will discuss the main dissimilarities in the both organizational projects. Here I will try to elaborate the main difference among the companies’ projects and their main intentions for these projects. As I have accessed the Cadbury Schweppes is going to implement the mySAP.com to create a standard IT platform and to develop new transparent organizational processes.

Cadbury Schweppes has developed the intention for this new technology implementation for the enhancement of the purchasing, production, internal communication and accounting process. As compared to the Mobil Oil Australia Limited, this organization has settled this project re-engineering to only enhance the accounting and local accounts payable functions. Here they have the primary focus on addressing the weaknesses and enhancing the 5-step SAP purchasing procedure and the sources of the purchasing transactions that impacted on accounts payable.

This company did not settle some high level goal like the enhancement of production, internal communication processes. So the biggest difference I have accessed in both companies is the basic intension for of the implementation of SAP R/3 system. The Mobil Oil Australia Limited is aimed to enhance the accounting and accounts processing functionalities but on the other hand the Cadbury Schweppes is going to implement this project to completely renovate there organizational structure and finalized more border scope of this SAP R/3 project implementation.
