Why and or how marketing is important to your information technology management? Marketing isvital for any business as it leads to success of any firm. The distribution and production depend mostly on the activities of marketing department. Most people are of the idea that marketing and sales are the same thing but they are relatively very different from each other. In Marketing, comes the area of sales, public relations, advertising, and promotions (Marketing). It is the procedure of promoting and introducing a product in the market, and it boosts up the sales by public buying. However, sales is more of a buying act or the real purchase of goods and services by the customers. (KARADENIZ ).The aim of marketing is to let the product or service is known exceptionally widely and also recognizable Therefore, marketers need to be creative in their area of expertise. Marketing is a competitive field and getting any product known is not easy. Businesses must concentrate more on the customers rather than products. Even though quality and good products are necessary, the public who is buying still need to adjust their personal favorites (Moorman). When more needs of customers are targeted, they will become loyal customers and will bring in potential customers. If you don’t concentrate on the customers and are more products focused, you can lose your valuable customers; and gaining back isn’t an easy job (T.S.). Marketing is encompassed in information technology management. All the activities of information technology management and marketing are interlinked. Making a call might involve computers. When any company indulges in buying shares of Microsoft, Intel or any other company of NASDAQ, then it’s called trade in the electronic market. As we all are aware of that NASDAQ does not have a physical entity, rather it is a network of dealers in securities who bid and then ask for different prices via a computer (Finance and Business. Information Technology Marketing). Business sector manufactures services and products for profit gain. The information technology management deals with creating, processing, and broadcasting information which is important to the performance of any business. The information technology is vital to business ventures because they play part as a management tool to make the full use of information processing to make services and goods for the sake of profit. Marketing in information technology management means that there are improvements which are a result of using information technology mainly to reduce the personnel’ needed. Obviously, economies of scale are a part and parcel of information technology management. The deploying of information technology has a very optimistic effect on financial condition of the business (The Importance of Marketing). Obviously marketing is needed for information technology management because ubiquitous information technology can never become vibrant in the eyes of the consumers until an energetic marketing force is working behind it. Information technology makes use of management information systems such as networks, hardware, software, and computers to support and automate the decision making and business tasks (Utilizing Information Technology in Innovative Marketing Approaches for Public Transportation). Information technology helps to automate the routine, simple tasks which included programs from word processing to such innovative programs as scheduling, production and also logistics. This is the way that information technology management and marketing work hand in hand for the success of a business. Assurance of quality is also a gift of information technology management as it gives a systematic test to make sure that business is making quality services and goods for its valued customers (Walker). This quality assurance is achieved by marketing firstly, then customer accounting and support and also with product testing. The efficient and effective procedures of information technology management helps to accomplish the goals of quality assurance as it helps to give high quality goods; and in return marketing assists in publicizing them (Jaafar). Marketing helps the information technology funds get ahead of others. It is the endeavors of a marketing department to publicize the products and services of an IT company such that it becomes a leader in the market (Manausa). Thus the competitive advantage plays a significant role in business success and marketing helps to accomplish that. Information technology on the other hand helps side by side to accomplish this competitive advantage for the marketing department. A combination of cost reductions, quality assurance, improvements in process and communication lead to build a competitive advantage for the firm. But, the consistent identification and new risks analysis are important to consistent growth and success of any business venture (ACR). Developing internet related technologies such as blogs, social networks, and also databases are rapidly becoming a popular tool required to accomplish and keep up with the benefits of business. Marketing helps with internal and external communications of the business and information technology management helps it. Communications are both with customers and suppliers on an effective basis. The internal networks, software, word processing, email, mobile devices such as PDA and social networks are becoming an important part of company’s internal environment aiding in marketing and communications as well as strategically strengthening the company (Trainor). Marketing is vital for information technology management as information technology is persistent for marketing. When information technology becomes a part of any organization so labor is made redundant which is obviously a drawback for the employees of organization because they are laid off. But, if employees are efficient and learn to live with information technology so the traditional role of computer enhances their experience and they get to learn much more. The videotape presentations and power point presentations are a great help for the marketing department (Wall). Service of the firm is enhanced by using information technology and when this technology is rightly managed by using the efforts of the marketing department, firm can succeed a lot. Market intelligence is very crucial for an IT firm as it has to keep updated with the recent innovations and technologies (Venkatesh). For this purpose, the marketing department comes in play. The direct advantages of marketing come from name lists which come from different marketing activities. Then these lists are screened via set criteria and then you can also restrict the mailing list to certain people who are your frequent users. The customer records analysis tells us about individual preferences and tests so people can view and also sent information on goods and services of their interest. This emphasized marketing in information technology is a benevolence of technology born with marketing (ITMSA). References ACR, .
