The Chinese administration’s recent anti-corruption program in top gear along with a worldwide shift far from logos, the year 2013 marked the prevalence of the ‘stealth wealth’ theme in China. The country can now be expected to put greater emphasis on individualism and self-expression and it is mostly noted among the luxury customers of China. This has paved the way for a number of transformations relating to the individual taste and preference of the consumers of China. Whilst the slowdown of last year can be expected to influence the luxury sales growth to raise upto 2.5% for the Chinese consumers, many insignificant players are however predicting the sales growth to increase by “double-digit rates”. Organizations have now decided to exploit this prevailing trend in China to the fullest and niche brand fashion, clothing and beauty retailers like Lane Crawford, Galeries Lafayette and 10 Corso Como have started running their outlets recently in the locations of the mainland China. The minor boutique brands are on the growing phase in both the e-commerce and the brick-and-mortar domains. The online outlets for individuality such as new social media websites and fashion blogs are reshaping the tastes of the Chinese consumers in the coming years and the retailers are presenting more personalized and special-edition products, as well as “VIP services”, to the Chinese market (Doran, 2014). These changes are the result of increased penetration of online shopping trends and enhanced visits of the Chinese customers to the foreign nations. Thus it can be stated that in the recent months, the changes in the taste and preference of the Chinese customers has affected the fashion and clothing trends of the population and as a result more and more foreign brands are entering the nation to serve those transformed fashion patterns. Effect of PETA on fashion PETA has recently acknowledged the fashion brands that are "kind to animals" in its 2nd yearly PETA-Approved Vegan Fashion Awards. The long time promoter of cruelty-free fashion, Stella McCartney is pleased to be counted among the “long-time the line-up”. The designer stated to Vogue, "PETA are always willing to put their necks on the line and always with a provocative sense of humor” (Miligan, 2014). McCartney is strictly against the usage of animal skin and fur in apparel designing. She herself never used animal skins in her accessory or clothing collections and in this endeavor Vivienne Westwood joined her, who won the “Most Stylish Mens Outerwear” along with Taeseok Kang who won the award for “Most Stylish Handbag”. The other retailers who were awarded with take home prizes consisted of ASOS, Next, Topshop and New Look whilst the digitally-printed leggings, colorful swimwear and dresses by Alice Vandy, have drawn admirers like Jessie J, have been awarded with the title of “Most Talented New Designer”. Thus this initiative by PETA has encouraged designers across the world to prepare dresses and fashion accessories from materials that involves no animal skin, fur or any of their body parts. The influence of PETA on the fashion industry was marked long back and at various occasions people protested in different ways against the usage of animals in various industries of the world. The 2014 event can’t be referred to as an unusual occurrence and it is considered as a major contribution by the organization towards the Protection of Animal Rights. Britain’s fashion trends in Philippines The ideal image of Britain’s role in the fashion industry is the actuality that whilst the British Fashion Month is being celebrated in Manila, “six up-and-coming” designers from Philippine will be coming up with their collections at the International Fashion Showcase throughout the London Fashion Week in Britain.  As per the statement published by the UK Government, “the British Fashion Month is an exhibition aiming to showcase UK’s high-street clothing brands through recreating the fashion street in London within the walls of several malls in Philippines”. To add to the value of the occasion, the British Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr. Asif Ahmed commenced a show in Manila at the SM Aura Premier shopping centre, where numerous high-end attire brands like Lee Cooper, Marks and Spencer, Clarks and River Island displayed their newest assortments. Mr. Ahmed stated that the UK has been a zone for designers from a very long time to set free their creativity and imagination that inspired others with their designs and defined an iconic era of trend, “from mod to punk, from high street to high fashion, from office to everyday casual wear” (Fibre2fashion, 2014 ), British style statement has been adapted and adopted throughout the planet. Shopping is a nationwide fervor in the Philippines and throughout the British Fashion Month, design and creativity styles from the UK that have a worldwide following will be on show at the malls and a number of Philippine customers would get the chance to explore apparels, accessories and shoes from a broad variety of retailers and brands. British Fashion Month is a constituent of ‘This is GREAT Britain’, a 5 month carnival of the greatest of British culture and business, which will conclude during March 2014 with the “Great British Festival 3-day weekend at Bonifacio High Street in the Philippines” (Fibre2fashion, 2014 ). The British fashion is renowned on an international basis as the most innovative fashion hub in the globe and it is also regarded as the foundation of new inspirations and discovery in the fashion industry. During September and February every year style influencers from each and every country move to Europe and head for the ramps of London Fashion Week in a chase to be in the midst of the first to explore the “next big thing” (Rowntree, 2014). Thus the British Fashion Month at Philippines proves to be a remarkable step that attempts to introduce the British Fashion to the consumers of the nation. This also invites diversity in the style statements of people of Philippines who directly come in contact with the British designers and their creations, during the fashion month.
