Can Facebook Ruin Romantic Relationships? Face book revolutionizes how people communicate since its development and release to the masses for use. Here is a casein point: people taking friendship and business ties online. It starts by people ditching communication via phone and embracing communication via email, YouTube, Skype, tweeter and other existing networking channels (Persimmons). In all of these, face book is the most common worldwide. At first, people use these networks to get closer to their beloved people like friends and family. Through the internet, many people have established relationships; reunions have been initiated especially with friends from elementary, high school and college educational centers. There have been advantages of Face booking like the ones spelt above. It is a site where people can have fun that includes sharing old and new photos (Persimmons). By use of its online chat room, there is creations and nurturing of numerous relationships. It has also mobilized participation of people in campaigns and social events. This has culminations by saying that it enhances collaboration and further strengthens social interaction within a community. However, Face book has accusations of ruining relationships that are romantically based and sufficient evidence has been sufficed to explain this sad phenomenon. Face book has been prescribed for use with one’s beloved family but it is bad for relationships (Persimmons). One of the reasons that have been brought forward to explain Face book’s tendency to ruin relationships is that it fuels jealousy tendencies and weird behavior in people who are in relationships (Persimmons). An example is when a man/woman in a relationship updates his/her Face book status and the comments he/she gets are of sexual nature but leaning towards a joke. This might lead to the partner getting upset and the result is relationship breakdown. Jealousy undermines relationships and Face book can be a good cause of such jealousy tendencies. People have therefore become victim to this jealousy tendency in their relationship setups. Face book also has a profile section that has a relationship personal status section. The site tells everyone whenever a person changes his or her status. Anxiety is created whenever such a thing is changed (Persimmons). For example, when somebody is casually dating another person, his or her status reads ‘it is complicated’. In reality, altering one’s relationship status leads top very harsh and uncomfortable relationships coupled with suspicious conversations that kill the morale of continuing with any given relationship. Face book provides a platform to update and post relationship problems and fights for the world to see. This is sometimes done covertly. This is because not every person involved in a relationship has a ready column to air his or her relationship issues (Bernstein). Continuation of relationship fights through the channel has seen people pose the fights in question form. Some will unearth what their relationship partners have not told them and the consequent repercussion is them posting what they know to the site and waiting for other people’s comments that can easily sway the beliefs of the person affected in the relationship(Lisa). Briefly, face book lets every one know of a person’s relationship background and status and what has really happened in the relationship he/she is in or in other cases, if he or she has broken up from the partner. Face book also contributes to relationship breakups by allowing cheesy and romantic updates and posts. Straying into dirty talk has led to development of tensions between people who are romantically involved (Bernstein). Dirty talk can include metaphors that describe bodily parts or remind of romantic comedies or pornography that may be hurtful to the reserved relationship partner(s). Many who fall in this category contend that if they cannot handle such behavior or talk from their partners with whom they share intimate settings why would they entertain such a trait from their partners in a public site. One of the worst things that one can experience through the site is seeing acquaintances posting their relationship calmness on the site and in reality are full of drama and fights (Bernstein). This is annoying and fake, thanks to this site and its relationship section in one’s profile information (Lisa). Face book entails the problem of reconnecting ex’s. This explains that there are probable problems facing couples in face book. This reconnection explains that ex’s keep evaluating issues that they kept deliberating prior in years. This explains that the couples usage of such social Medias makes them elevate untrustworthiness. Therefore, this explains that couples may commence wavering from their relationships. This is a result of the matters that they discuss with their ex’s. This may make certain couples to lean on their ex’s (Parr). Therefore, face book is a spot that can devastatingly destroy a relationship. Couples spotted communicating with their ex’s suffer the problem of being left. This is because their couples stop trusting them. This is an explanation of the fact that their couples may speculate some fishy manners with their couples. Therefore, the results of developing untrustworthiness makes a certain engagement start wavering. Face book is thus a locality that requires people in relationships to develop caution in their proceedings. Another thing is the addiction that it has on couples. This explains that the couples develop insecurity concerning their beloved. When a couple utilizes entire time face booking, this is a sign that they have addiction (Christine). This behavior arouses insecurity within their couples. Couples using time in face book create lots of insecurity to their couples. The other trouble of the addiction is that couples exhaust time connecting with other people. Spending time with people whom they have no relations arouses untrustworthiness with their couples. This is an explanation of commencing scores among some relationships. Therefore, the couples become exceedingly insecure. Having limited time for their partners makes them develop doubt with their beloved. This is an explanation of the untrustworthiness among couples. This untrustworthiness may make couples to start being suspicious to their partners. Another problem of the face book is the idea that it over enlightens a couple about their partner. This results from the information that face book exposes some one (Jennifer). This exposure makes their couples to congregate information about their couples. This has explanations in the fact that couples keep scrutinizing people commenting on their partner’s status. The idea that partners become over enlightened about their partners becomes a basis of untrustworthiness. Untrustworthiness is a trait that is exceedingly detrimental to a relationship. Knowing exaggerated information about someone’s partners creates a lot of jealousy. This has explanations in the fact that they keep worrying about people tagging photos to their partners. This jealousy diminishes the bond of strength among their partners. Weakening of the bond among partners leads to breaking of the relationship. Therefore, face book contains the effect of making couples to develop insecurity among them. Romantic relationships ignited online depict shallow depths of trust (Healy). This is an explanation of the fact that the couples become exceedingly insecure. This is the start of baseless problems among couples. Online romantic relationships entail the problem of couples becoming insecure. Therefore, the couples may commence behaving in weird ways towards their partners. The couples become exceedingly insecure to the level of spying on the status partners. This elevates mistrust among couples. Stretched distance engagements depict insecurity that makes them weak. The depth of trust keeps becoming shallow through scrutiny that they perform on the face book walls of their partners. Reduced trust among couples makes them start cheating out of insecurity. This is the basing of the insecurity among couples. The other problem of face book relating to romantic relationships is the idea of leaving spouses because of their looks (Akiteng). While in face book, people get to connect with people from all perspectives. This explains that interacting with stunningly looking people over the face book creates temptation to couples. Therefore, couples may commence cheating because of the interactions that the entail. When a couple gets to know that their partners have dealings with fair people, this is something that can make a relationship to stumble. Therefore, face book is a locality that makes relationships become wanting. Face book entails people who have better looks than their partners do. The decision of someone becoming true to their partner is something that requires bold people. Therefore, chatting with people who entail better looks than one’s spouses is a great threat. In conclusion, stability of relations depends heavily on social sites. Face book explains variant leeways emanating mistrust among lovers. This has explanations in the way partners relate with strangers while in face book. Therefore, face book can have detrimental effects to relationships. Face book can thus diminish the intensity of love among partners. Partners require displaying caution while interacting in face book. The harmful consequences posted by face book break the bondage among lovers. Works Cited Akiteng, Christine. How face book May be ruining your relationship. Web.
