Sita Sings the Blues The essay analyses the aims in life of Sita, Rama, Ravana, and King Dasaratha in relation to the four aims in life. The aims include dharma, Kama, Moksa and Artha. In addition, thee analysis describes how bhakti enabled individual characters to achieve their desires. Sita Sita acts as Rama’s beautiful wife. She remains faithful to Rama even after Ravana; the evil king forcefully kidnapped her from Rama. Sita’s primary aim in life remains the desire to persuade her husband that she is loyal and committed to their marriage.

However, Sita lacks Moksa as depicted by her lifestyle and marriage issues. Ravana denies her freedom, and she lives in fear that the evil king might ruin her marriage. In addition, she does not gain Kama, which relates to the inability to fulfill her marriage desires. However, Sita strives to live in accordance with dharma when she made the right decision not to commit adultery with Ravana (Cinema Nirvana 26:37). In addition, Sita’s devotional worship to Vishnu helped in rescuing her from Ravana and his demons.

Rama Rama hopes that he will rise to become king of Ayodhya. Rama also desires to have a successful marriage and maintain his love to Sita. Rama maintains the concepts of dharma by making the right decisions when faced with challenges. He insists on traditions of the kingdom that Sita cannot reunite in their marriage after Ravana took her unless she confesses (Cinema Nirvana 38:25). It is imperative that Rama’s commitment to bhakti enables him to defeat Ravana and rescue his wife. Ravana Ravana, who is the evil king of Sri Lanka, desires to marry Sita.

He decides to Kidnap Sita after his ogress sister convinced him (Cinema Nirvana 17:33). Ravana fails to understand the concepts of Artha by not considering elements of life that constitutes life. He understands that Sita is not happy but continues to keep her hostage. Moreover, he does not maintain the dharma in his quest for life because he fails to make independent positive ideas. Rather, Ravana relies on the counsel of his evil ogre sister.King Dasaratha King Dasaratha desires to have his eldest son Ravana to succeed him as the king of Ayodhya (Cinema Nirvana 9:56).

He fails to achieve the concepts of Kama and dharma. Dharma concept entails ability to make independent decisions and discern what is right. Dasaratha fails to crown his son Ravana as the king and decides to banish him from the court after listening to Kaikeyi, her evil wife. Work CitedCinema Nirvana. Sita Sings the Blues.
