Domestic Violence Domestic violence This project will be referred to as police and humanity training (PAHT). The program will be an initiative of the South Carolina police services and the Ethics Affairs Commission of South Carolina. This project will be focused on the addressing the underlying issues on significance of domestic violence in family set ups as well as the linguistically broad societies. The most important aspects of the projects would involve training as well as education of the community as well as the police authorities on the most effective ways of reacting to domestic violence cases and victims in a virtually sensitive manner. It is important to note that there has been a wide spread outcry from the public as well as the leaders on the status of domestic violence in the societies. The trend of the domestic violence in the homes has also been noted to be on the increase. On the contrary, there have been significantly little measures that have been put forward for the management of the cases. The program will have its aims at encouraging the present two-way police training awareness. This will be carried out in conjunction with the on-going debates on the. Subsequently, there exist four on-going projects on the PAHT projects across the state. This project will have its objectives on various factors such as; Addressing the effects of domestic violence’s in the homes Develop a crisis as well as a counselling service facility in South Carolina Come up with a hotline on the related topic There shall be a provision of training for volunteers too with regard to domestic violence related issues. Encourage the enforcement of Domestic Violence Act Developing as well as maintaining a particular domestic violence programs Developing safer communities for all The program shall be developed with regard to the current finding on the various studies that have been carried out. Some of the studies that shall be taken into consideration are like the Domestic Violence as observed in the child protection systems. Domestic Violence actions and resources and also the Aboriginal as well as the Torres straits islander women’s taskforce on violence report, 2010. On the other hand, the program that is intended to carry out the initiative is well developed with a board of members that is elected on annual basis. Additionally, there are various trained councillors who are always available, but seemingly the number has been way too down for the cases that have been received, hence the need of training more volunteers. Project description and design The project will be committed on focusing on its objectives as have been described; which is majorly dealing with the elimination of domestic violence in the state. The initiative will have the sole responsibility of taking into consideration of the plight of the women and children who might be victims of domestic violence. As such, the project can be described to have two major components; communal outreach and perpetrator rehabilitation. On the other hand, the services that shall be geared towards the communal outreach shall be responsible for the massive awareness on the issues that are related to domestic violence. The program shall also have a design to believe that the continuous cycle of violence involvements with abusive men are very important in part of the broader approach in handling domestic violence issues. First design-Community outreach This policy will be concerned with the eradication of the domestic violence in the state by ensuring public awareness is made thorough education. The advocacy and the public education will be aimed at the most likely targeted victims. This will be very significant in the in the management of the changes in the traditions that encourage violence acts againstwomen and children too. This initiative could be achieved through enhancing the capacity of the community-based advocates in the management of factors that are related to domestic violence. The main objective of this particular part of the project is in the creation of public awareness as well as sharing information of the related issues. This part of the project will also have the responsibility of providing the necessary skills that are needed by the victim as well as the practitioners who will be handling the cases. This portion will have its objectives on the provision of community-based advocates. The major people who will be involved at this level will be the health providers, peer educators, teachers, and church leaders. There shall availability of the knowledge related materials as well as education material that will be provided to this group of people. The material will be used in the advocacy issues related to children and women. There shall be a manual that shall be produced for the provision of guidelines on the resources that shall be available. Second design-rehabilitations of the victims The significance of the rehabilitation of the victims in the programme, especially of for the male perpetrators shall be in accordance to most of the designs that have been implemented in most of the violence interventions designs. On the other hand, there is a vast risk of the exposure of women and children who will be in contact to the perpetrators, hence the need for the rehabilitation services. In addition to the risks associated with the emotional, mental as well as physical health status of women, the program will be responsible for the quality of life that shall be provided after the rehabilitation so the victims. The major challenge that might be encountered by the study designs that have been developed for the studies would be the establishment of the previous history of the victims. This is because there exists no structural measures available for the evaluations of the previous cases on the victims. This would have been necessary in the determination of the capacity and the depth of the cases that are being handled. Determination of the right study sample Screening for the individuals and families suspected of domestic violence shall be carried out using the family law reforms. This important tool was introduced for the sole purpose of screening families as well as individuals for the domestic violence cease. The tool majorly relies on the foundation that the family relationship centres are the very first contact points, for the families who are noted to be victims of domestic violence. On the other hand, the tool suggests that the centres can be used as the very first or earliest identification of the domestic violence cases. Additionally, is it noted that FDR cannot be relied upon for the mediation services. The FDR can then not be used the basic tool in the evaluation of the families experiencing domestic violence. On the other hand, various tools have been provided by a study by Humphreys (2007) that relates t5o the technicalities that can be experienced when evaluating children who are under domestic violence. Additionally, the study provides the best criteria’s that can be used in the evaluation of children who might be encountering domestic violence. The study further gives the acknowledgement that women who have been separated via the family laws, especially after violence in their previous relationships need to be included in the study programs. This was suggested so because the women did not have proper negotiation terms during their contact agreements. It was further reported that there was a significant level of inadequacies during the risk evaluations because of lack of understanding of the domestic violence laws and regulations. Some of the important tools that should be incorporated in the study should be inclusive of the assessment criteria are like the evaluations of the family needs like in the provision or during the healthcare visits, especially for the expectant women. Additionally, more information can be obtained during the routinely home visits for children and for the parents too. On the other hand, it is worthy to note that there are vast measures that have been put into practise especially for organisations for the evaluations of the violence cases in the homes (Humphreys, Houghton& Ellis, 2008). Subsequently, a study by Humphreys suggests that in case of a multi-agency collaboration, it is advisable to have the standard measures used in the evaluations of the domestic violence cases. The information that shall have been obtained from the various victims shall be involved in the study shall be kept confidential and no external parties will be allowed to have the information. In fact, there will be no use of their real names of the victims in the studies. All the participants will be given serial codes or number that shall be used in the identifications. All the participants shall be referred to by their serial numbers and not by their names or locations. Measuring the progress of the domestic violence cases There have been various literatures that have been put forward in the understanding of domestic violence. Furthermore, most of the review papers as well as the study papers have had most of their focus on the cases of women and children as the major complexities that may be encountered while dealing with domestic violence. It is important that the same studies have been keen to note that such trainings must have the capacity to go way above power and control. On the other hand, these trainings need to have the capacity to have various forms of the violence’s that may be encountered by the various victims. Taking note of the continuation of the violence’s that may also be encountered at post separation times. On other hand, it is also necessary to have the most effective strategies that may be deployed in the management of violent attacks of mother child associations, as well as the effects of trauma that may be the aftermath of the violence, especially for the mother and the children. It is also necessary to mention that there are online training provisions that have been developed in the management of domestic violence. Additionally, there are professionals online who can be contacted for professional help in the cases of violence. The AVERT (2012) initiative that was developed for online guidance is one of the vast online counselling providing avenues. The various agencies that are responsible and may be contacted in cases of domestic violence’s are like the Family violence online manuals, judicial officers, court officers, legal as well as FDR officers, child contact officers as well as the psychological and the social workers. Moreover of the information relating to how the victims may be handled may be referred to from the various agencies. Moreover, there exist there requited policies and measures within the agencies (Ogbonnaya&Guo, 2013). Conclusion It is often noted that women and children have been able to form a strong resilience especially when faced with issues pertaining to domestic violence. Public officers, practitioners and the available policies have been put down in the management of a secure future for both the women and children (Ogbonnaya&Guo, 2013). However, there have been a lacking methodological procedures that are put forward in the protection of the children and the women. It is then the responsibility of the public office holders to provide their share of the protection. This study will provide the necessary package for the various officers in the different offices to provide their share of protection for the women and children with regard to domestic violence.
