Thus focus will be on how the intercultural relationships are explained with respect to different dimensions of interpersonal relationships as shown in the film. Furthermore, the film is analyzed on the basis of Hofstede’s cultural taxonomies, along with the cultural patterns that are identified within the context. It also discusses how interpersonal communications are affected by diversity or lack of diversity and how it could be enhanced. The film focuses on the intercultural experiences of a Seattle call center manager, Todd Anderson, who is “outsourced” to India for training the employees.

The story revolves around the way he adjusts, the friendship and romances that develop, and how he is ultimately changed by these intercultural encounters and experiences. It describes the intercultural communications between members of contrasting values and cultural stereotypes, presenting the importance of the cross-cultural understanding. Since the purpose of Todd to India was to train the outsourcing company for successful MPI, he has to deal effectively with the intercultural interpersonal communications.

As for the members in the workplace, they are primarily concerned about their goals and eminent incomes gained from the employment. However, the current scenario in the company seems less favorable for the employees to sustain as they struggle with the American customers who are inconvenient with their language and way of handling problems. It becomes the responsibility of Todd to train them into learning the American mentality and their language accent for succeeding in the business. However, he ends up learning the Indian culture and its diverse patterns of lifestyle.
